What is the best MINI laptop to buy( as well as budget friendly)?

My sony vaio for 4 years has a crack in the screen thats spreading and I figured the cost it will take to get it fixed i might as well buy a new laptop. So i want to down grade as i am a college student. What is the best mini laptop 14 inches and under? I want something with grade speed and alot of memory storage.I will be taking it to school with me, mainly typing papers and doing other stuff like surf internet and watch movies, listen to music etc.

I know gateway has one, but who else?

I would go with HP. Gateway sucks and so does dell and acer and all of those other cheap shitty brands. Apple is the best but is very expensive.
